GOD IS GOOD...ALL THE TIME!

Well, during this adventure we have been quick to tell everyone that we feel like God is sending us to Belgium for reasons we may not understand. Approximately six months later, we still feel that way even when the planning has been difficult. I keep reminding myself (and the girls) that The Lord has a purpose in all of this and that perhaps His plan will reveal itself after we get there. I also felt very strongly that perhaps The Lord was providing a new job for Stig in advance before something happened with his current job. We could see that things were changing with the company and that Stig's position seemed to be shrinking although he did still have a job. During times of frustration with planning our move Stig would say, "well, I do have a job, perhaps we should just forget about accepting this position and stay where we are". Each time he made that offer, I did not feel like that was the answer and so we continued to plod ahead with our efforts step by step. Stig was hesitating about giving his notice to his company before our Visa paperwork was completed. He agreed to take vacation to go on a business trip for his new job with Glaxo and planned to give his resignation when he returned. He then tossed around the idea of resigning on his birthday (April 17) as a b-day present to himself, but was still hesitant with the timing. While we were in Las Vegas for Martin and Betty's wedding Stig received a message from a friend/co-worker telling of several people being laid off and advised Stig to refrain from putting in his notice. We were also concerned about how much we were going to have to pay in relocation costs to Chemical Lime. On Friday, April 17, Stig went to work at 7am and at 8am was called into his bosses office and laid-off! Wow! It felt a little weird to be happy about him being laid-off, but it truly was a blessing for us. Now we no longer had to worry about the relo cost repayment and he received a severance package! God Is Good...All The Time!

On the same day that Stig was laid-off we received notification of a lease showing for our house. Stig said, "wouldn't it be amazing if something happened with the house too?" I said, "yeah, but don't get your hopes up"! Well, then on Monday I received an email with questions from the leasing company! The people who looked at our house wanted to lease it for one year. God Is Good...All The Time!

One of our friends from Bible Study is a used car salesman and he agreed to send potential van buyers our way. He had a Pastor and his wife come in looking for a van and he called me so that we could show them ours. Unfortunately, a few days before they came to see our van, Stig had a minor bumper accident! Smushed the corner of the bumper while backing up, BUMMER! When the family called to see the van, Stig told him and he wanted to look anyway. I told Stig to make an as is deal with them so that I don't have to worry with getting it fixed. This turned out to be a blessing for them as they really liked our van but could not afford it, so the smushed bumper discount made it possible for them. They are working on their financing and are hoping to pick up the van this week. God Is Good...All The Time!

As each one of these issues seem to fall into place it just feels like confirmation that The Lord is sending us to Belgium for His purpose. He is taking care of the details and I am trying to relax and let Him.

So things are moving along and we are planning to have the house packed up May 11-12. The moving company will then load the truck on the 13th and we will stay in a hotel for a couple of nights. We are hoping to get our tickets scheduled for May 15 to fly to Belgium.
